Remarks by the President at a DNC Event - With Partial Translation

The Propagandist-In-Chief was at it again recently. Twisting facts, distorting reality, manipulating public perception and all the usual things we have come to expect from he and his radical Alinsky devotees. See partial text of article below and my edits in parenthesis with red font:

The White House
Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release June 20, 2011
Remarks by the President at a DNC Event
Mandarin Oriental Hotel
Washington, D.C.

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you. Thank you, everybody. Thank you. (Applause.) Thank you, everybody. Please have a seat, have a seat.

It is wonderful to see all of you. I've got a lot of friends in the room here. People who knew me before anybody could pronounce my name. (Laughter.) People who knew me before I had gray hair. (Laughter.) It is wonderful to see those of you who’ve been friends for a long time, and it’s wonderful to see new friends here as well.

What I'd like to do is to make some very brief remarks at the top and then have a chance to take a few questions, because that will give us a chance to have a dialogue, and you might have some suggestion that we haven’t thought of. And it’s one of the great things about these kinds of events is people here have so much expertise in so many different areas that it’s a wonderful thing for me to be able to pick your brain as well as just you guys hearing me chatter.

We are obviously going through one of the toughest periods in American history. We went through the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression (an actual true statement), and immediately after being elected, I had to take a series of very difficult steps to rescue ourselves from the brink (the lying begins, their actions helped nearly push us over the edge and have extended the downturn). We had lost 4 million jobs in the six months before I was sworn in; lost another 4 million during the period probably six months after I was elected. And so as a consequence, we had to do some things that we didn’t expect we would have to do, just to save the economy (more lying - remember the "never let a crisis go to waste" comment. They helped create the economic collapse with their radical policies, by design, and have used it as an opportunity to pile on in an effort to bring the system down completely. Remember, they hate Capitalism and want to bring it down and replace it with their big government nanny state socialism). -- stabilize the financial system (they were actually trying to create instability, that's what $1.5 trillion deficits as far as the eye can see are designed to do. They are not interested in stability), make sure that states and local governments didn’t have to lay off police officers and cops and firefighters (right, delaying the inevitable so that states did not have to face their own irresponsible and reckless spending policies at taxpayer expense, a true statement but a ridiculous and wasteful policy. The lie is that they always say it is the police officers and firefighters that must be laid off FIRST! Pure Madness!). We had to save an auto industry (LIES! They screwed the bondholders of General Motors to pay off their favored unions. The "auto industry" didn't need saving by the federal government, it needed to follow the normal course of Capitalism. If businesses don't operate efficiently and profitably - they GO AWAY and get absorbed by the companies that are doing it right - Like FORD. It is such a colossal lie to say they had to save the industry). I never expected to be a automobile executive. (Laughter.)

As a consequence of that swift, decisive, and sometimes difficult period, we were able to take an economy that was shrinking by about 6 percent and create an economy that is now growing, and has grown steadily now over many consecutive quarters (In spite of these destructive actions, not because of them). Over the last 15 months we’ve created over 2.1 million private sector jobs (See the previous comment. Imagine for a moment where we might be if we didn't have such a radical, big government, wasteful spending, private sector attacking, anti-business president - little p - in the White House!) . (Applause.) We have an auto industry that, for the first time in a very long time is profitable (GM was failing - not the entire auto industry. Just ask Ford what they think about all this), and the Big Three automakers actually gaining market share, and not only gaining market share, but also gaining market share in the cars of the future so that they’re actually competing in compact cars and sub-compact cars and electric cars and hybrids (cars that cannot compete without huge government subsidies to entice people to buy. Ask any auto company where they make money - SUV's, not these asinine, 100 mile range, ecologically destructive battery propelled "smart cars" that will guarantee you a horrific death if you get into an accident. The lies and manipulation just never end with these radicals. But never mind about that, it's all about saving the environment, not your ass!).

And so I'm extraordinarily proud of the economic record that we (again, in spite of you not because of you) were able to produce over the first two and a half years, but having said all that, the economy is still so tough for so many people around the country (thanks to your horribly destructive economic, wealth redistributive, anti-capitalist, big government, welfare state policies). The hole that was dug was so deep. And most importantly, the reasons that I decided to run for President in the first place still had not been fully addressed, because the fact is, is that even before this financial crisis, wages and incomes had flat-lined for most Americans. Those at the very top had seen themselves do very well, but the bottom 95 percent, the bottom 90 percent, they were treading water at a time when their cost of health care and cost of college education, cost of groceries, cost of gasoline all were going up. And that was before the crisis hit. And now they’ve got to worry about homes that have lost value and businesses that are just barely getting by.

And so although we’ve made a turn in a positive direction (no we haven't, unemployment is over 9%, fuel is almost $4.00 a gallon, the housing market isn't correcting and our federal government is driving our economy over a cliff at the rate of $1.5 trillion deficit per year), the underlying structural challenges that we face remain (code words for the inherent inequality of Capitalism that will not be fixed until they have destroyed American Exceptionalism and replaced it with third world, nanny state Socialism). And so the reason that 2012 is important is because I did not just run for President to get us back to where we were; I ran for President originally to move us to where we need to be (their Socialist utopia that is not achievable under any circumstances, always leads to tyranny, oppression, murder, starvation and unnecessary suffering. Ya, that's their big plan so let's give this lunatic and his comrades 4 more years. I don't think so!)...
